Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Amany Lewis, founder of Edible Concepts and Elev8 Plant-Based.
For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as an educator teaching math and science across grades 3 through 6 in both Houston and Washington, D.C. I am currently a fifth-grade math and science teacher and have always been passionate about creating learning experiences that feel engaging, memorable, and meaningful for students.
My love for food began early in the kitchen alongside my mother, where cooking became more than preparing meals. It became creativity, culture, connection, and experience. As I grew older and began experimenting in the kitchen on my own, that passion eventually evolved into a culinary business rooted in bringing people together through food.
What started with sharing meals in the teacher’s lounge quickly turned into something much bigger. Coworkers, friends, and community members continuously encouraged me to expand what I was creating, which eventually led to the growth of Elev8 Plant-Based, where I began offering meal preps, catering, and elevated plant-based culinary experiences.
Over time, I noticed something powerful happening in my classroom and around my students. Simply by seeing, smelling, and experiencing the food I prepared, students became curious and excited to try ingredients and meals they may have never been exposed to otherwise. Watching their reactions, openness, and willingness to explore new foods inspired me to create Edible Concepts, a space where my passion for teaching and culinary creativity could fully come together.
Above all, my passion is rooted in serving others, creating meaningful experiences, and using my gifts in a way that glorifies God through creativity, education, food, and community. I’m excited to continue creating experiences that inspire curiosity, encourage exploration, and show students that learning can be both engaging and unforgettable when creativity and connection are brought to the table.

We believe food can be a powerful gateway to creativity, confidence, connection, and real-world learning.
At Edible Concepts, students are encouraged to explore beyond recipes through hands-on culinary experiences that blend STEM, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in a way that feels exciting, meaningful, and approachable.
Our workshops are designed to help students think critically, create boldly, work together, and build confidence through interactive experiences that connect learning to everyday life.
We believe some of the most powerful learning happens when students can see, touch, experiment, create, and experience concepts for themselves — transforming education from something simply taught into something fully lived.
Every Edible Concepts experience is thoughtfully curated and facilitated by fully certified educators who are passionate about creating engaging, safe, and inspiring environments where students can learn, explore, and grow.
More than a workshop, Edible Concepts is designed to create memorable experiences that spark curiosity, encourage self-expression, and leave students feeling empowered long after the experience ends.
